Question 1

How do I connect my Minecraft server to Discord?

Accepted Answer

Open the mod's configuration file and enter your Discord bot token and the channel IDs where you want messages to appear. Once saved and the server restarts, the mod will attempt to connect; check the server logs to confirm the connection succeeded.

Question 2

What Discord permissions does my bot need?

Accepted Answer

Your bot needs permission to send messages, read message history, and embed links in the channels you've designated for chat sync and server events. If you're using command execution from Discord, it also needs permission to read reactions or slash commands depending on your setup.

Question 3

Why isn't my in-game chat showing up in Discord?

Accepted Answer

First, verify the bot is online in your Discord server and check that you've entered the correct channel ID in the config. If chat still doesn't appear, check your server logs for connection errors and confirm the bot has send message permissions in that channel.

Question 4

Can I sync multiple Minecraft servers to one Discord server?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but each server instance needs its own bot token or you must configure separate channel IDs for each server to avoid message conflicts. Refer to your mod's configuration guide to set up multiple server connections properly.

Question 5

How do I run commands from Discord without giving players admin access?

Accepted Answer

Configure which commands are executable from Discord in the mod's settings, then set role-based permissions so only trusted Discord roles can trigger those commands. This lets you manage the server remotely while keeping player permissions separate.

Question 6

Does this mod cause server lag?

Accepted Answer

The mod is designed to run efficiently, but sending many events to Discord simultaneously (like during mass player joins) may cause brief delays; you can reduce this by disabling less important event notifications in the config.

Question 7

What server events can be sent to Discord?

Accepted Answer

Common events include player joins and leaves, deaths, advancements, and custom messages, though the exact list depends on your mod version. Check your configuration file for all available event types you can enable or disable.

Question 8

Can I format Discord messages differently, like with colors or embeds?

Accepted Answer

Many versions of this mod support basic formatting through configuration options, allowing you to customize message templates and colors. Check your config file for formatting options or placeholders like player names and event types.

Question 9

Will this mod work with other server mods and plugins?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it's generally compatible with most server mods, but conflicts can occur with other mods that heavily modify chat or events. If you experience issues, try disabling other chat-related mods temporarily to isolate the problem.

Question 10

How do I hide sensitive information like player IPs from Discord logs?

Accepted Answer

Configure which event details are included in Discord messages through the mod's settings—you can typically disable IP logging and other sensitive data in the event configuration. Review your config carefully to ensure only appropriate information is being sent.
