How Linked Storage Works
Linked Storage adds two things: a
Storage Block and a
Handheld Storage item. The core idea is that these two are *linked*, meaning they share the same inventory rather than each holding separate contents.
The Storage Block is the fixed half of the pair. Place it down and it acts as a stationary access point to the shared inventory. The Handheld Storage is the portable half: carry it with you and you can open the same inventory on the move, without returning to the block.
Because both reference one shared inventory, anything you deposit through the block is visible from the handheld item, and vice versa. This makes the pair useful for keeping a single stock of items accessible from a base and from wherever you travel.
To use the system, place the block and keep the handheld item on you. Open either one to view and manage the shared contents. The mod does not add separate inventories per device, so there is nothing to sync manually.
