Finding Your Decorative Blocks with Inspection Mode
Decorative blocks use the exact vanilla model, so in a large build you cannot tell them apart from real ones by looking. Inspection mode solves this by outlining every placed decorative block.
Setting Up the Key
1. Open Options.
2. Go to Controls, then open the key binds menu.
3. Find the entry for Inspection mode.
4. Assign it to a key that does not clash with your other binds.
5. Save and return to the game.
Using Inspection Mode
1. Stand near the build you want to check.
2. Press your assigned key.
3. Each decorative block now shows a highlighted outline. Any workstation or bed without an outline is a normal vanilla block.
This is useful for:
- Checking why a villager is not taking a job. The workstation you placed may be decorative.
- Finding fake barrels before you try to store items in them.
- Confirming that every bed in an inn has been converted.
Adjusting the Outline Thickness
If the outlines are too thin to spot or too thick and distracting, change the config option highlightLineWidth. It controls the outline thickness in Inspection mode.
1. Open the mod's configuration.
2. Find highlightLineWidth.
3. Raise it for bolder outlines or lower it for subtler ones.
4. Check the result in-game with Inspection mode and adjust again until it suits your build.
