Understand What ForgedFabric Does in Your Game

Behind-the-Scenes Bridge

ForgedFabric API Mod translates Fabric API code into Forge-compatible systems. Mods originally written for Fabric can run on Forge without major rewrites. You won't see new blocks, items, or mobs—it's purely infrastructure.

What You'll Actually Notice

When ported mods are installed alongside ForgedFabric, their features work normally: combat changes, scaling mechanics, or other gameplay tweaks function as intended. Without ForgedFabric, those ported mods either won't load or will crash.

Performance Impact

ForgedFabric has minimal performance overhead since it only provides compatibility hooks. It doesn't add content or tick systems that drain resources.

Compatibility Notes

ForgedFabric allows Forge players to use mods from the Fabric ecosystem without waiting for native Forge ports. This is especially useful for combat and balance mods that may only exist on Fabric initially. If you're only using native Forge mods, you don't need ForgedFabric at all.
