Gathering Wand Materials

Wands come in wood-specific variants: Acacia Wand, Birch Wand, Bamboo Wand, Cherry Wand, Crimson Wand, Dark Oak Wand, and Aurum Wand. Each is crafted from its matching wood — Aurum Wand from Aurum Planks, Crimson Wand from Crimson Stone, and the rest from their named logs or planks. Pick the wood you have the most of and craft that wand first.

Wands in Progression

Wands are the entry tool for arcane work. Pair a wand with Arcane Crystal and Arcane Crystal Dust to progress into obelisk crafting and the polished darkstone building set. Keep one wand in your hotbar while exploring so you can interact with arcane blocks as you find them.

Scaling Up

Once you have a wand and a steady Arcane Crystal supply, branch into the higher-tier arcane gear: Draco Arcanus Staff, Draco Arcanus Scepter, and the Draco Arcanus armor set (Helmet, Chestplate, Leggings, Boots). These require Asterite Ingot and Block of Asterite, which come from Asterite Debris and Asterite Chunk. Mine Asterite Debris, smelt or blast Asterite Chunk into Asterite Ingot, then craft the staff, scepter, and armor pieces. The Draco Arcanus Arrow and Boom Arrow round out ranged options. Store spare Asterite Ingot as Block of Asterite to save space.
