Use the Mod's Sound Cues to Survive Danger, Including on Multiplayer Servers

Dynamic Surroundings Rebirth isn't only cosmetic. Several sounds warn you about your condition and your surroundings.

Listen for Warning Sounds

  • Heartbeat: You hear a heartbeat when your health is low. When it starts, back off, eat, drink a healing potion, or build a quick shelter.
  • Hunger rumbles: Your stomach rumbles when you're getting hungry. Eat before your hunger bar drains far enough to stop health regeneration.
  • Deep Dark cues: Low drones, faint heartbeats and occasional Sculk clicks play near the Deep Dark. Treat them as a signal to sneak, avoid triggering sculk, and stay alert for the Warden.
  • Muffled audio: Sounds become muffled underwater and when heard through thick solid walls. A muffled noise usually means its source is behind stone or below water, not right beside you.

Tip: If one cue is too loud or too quiet, hold Ctrl + ` right after it plays and adjust its volume in the quick sound menu. Don't mute the heartbeat or Deep Dark sounds completely if you rely on them as warnings.

Playing on Multiplayer

This mod runs entirely on your client.

1. Keep it installed on your own game.

2. Join any multiplayer server as usual. The server doesn't need to install anything.

3. All sounds, fog, particles and HUD overlays appear only for you. Other players won't see or hear them unless they have the mod installed too.
