Doubling Enchantment Levels with Shadow Essence

Shadow Essence is one of the strongest upgrades in Deep's Lucky Block Mod. You combine it with a tool or weapon at an anvil, and it doubles the item's active enchantment levels.

Choosing the Right Item

Essence is valuable, so spend it on gear you will actually keep.

1. Hover over the item and hold SHIFT to read its enchantment properties.

2. Prefer higher-tier items. Legendary, Mythic, Divine and Immortal gear has the maximum enchantment capacity, so it benefits most from doubling.

3. Check for cursed enchantments such as Stinky Feet. There is little point upgrading gear you would rather not use.

4. Pick items whose enchantments you rely on. Universal Trench on a digging tool or Phasing on a bow are strong examples.

Applying the Shadow Essence

1. Place or find an anvil.

2. Put your chosen tool or weapon into the anvil's input slots together with the Shadow Essence.

3. If the anvil shows an experience cost, make sure you have enough levels.

4. Take the upgraded item from the output slot.

5. Hover over it and hold SHIFT to confirm the enchantment levels have doubled.

Tips

• Upgrade one main weapon or tool at a time. That way your essence goes into gear you use every session.
• Keep upgraded items on you before opening Deep Lucky Blocks. Doubled enchantments help a lot against bosses like the Slime King or the Samouss Boss.
