Using Upgraded Vaults on Contraptions and Colored Containers

Tiered vaults behave just like standard vaults when assembled onto moving contraptions or wired into factory item networks. You can expand mobile storage capacities and preserve custom color schemes from compatible decoration mods.

Expanding Contraption Storage

Mobile contraptions often fill up quickly, forcing frequent stops to unload collected resources.

1. Build your contraption frame using basic vaults or existing tiered vault blocks.

2. To upgrade an already assembled stationary structure, hold the matching upgrade item in your main hand and sneak-right-click any block of the vault.

3. Activate your contraption as usual—multiblock shapes and contraption movement carry across all seven tiers, giving mobile builds up to 12.4x the storage space without enlarging the machine.

Keeping Dye Colors and Addon Styles

Upgrading your storage tiers will not overwrite color-coded factory layouts. Tiered vaults work directly with Create: Vibrant Vaults, Create: Connected, and Design n’ Decor blocks.

When you sneak-right-click to upgrade dyed vaults or colored shipping containers, the multiblock keeps its dye color and shape while adding material tier studs on the corners so you can identify its rank at a glance.
