Upgrading Placed Item Vaults Without Moving Your Items
Expanding factory storage normally means draining containers, breaking blocks, and rebuilding layouts, but tiered vaults let you upgrade existing structures on the spot. Every connected block in a placed multiblock upgrades together while keeping all stored items safe.
Choosing a Direct Upgrade Item
There are seven material tiers above the basic vault: Copper, Iron, Gold, Diamond, Emerald, Obsidian, and Netherite. Instead of stepping through every single tier in order, you can craft any of the 28 upgrade items to jump directly from your current vault material to your target tier.
If you want to preview how a specific transition works before using it, hover over any upgrade item in your inventory and press W to view its Ponder tutorial scene.
Applying the Upgrade in Place
1. Place a basic Item Vault or locate an existing tiered vault multiblock in your world.
2. Craft the upgrade item corresponding to your vault's current material and the target tier you want to reach.
3. Hold the upgrade item in your main hand.
4. Sneak-right-click any single block in the multiblock vault.
The entire connected structure upgrades instantly. Your stored contents, multiblock shapes, and applied dye colors remain completely intact without disrupting attached item networks.
