Scaling Factory Storage Across the Seven Vault Tiers

When your item networks start filling up, upgrading vault tiers multiplies your storage space without forcing you to rebuild your factory layout. Moving up the tier ladder increases capacity in two ways at once: adding more slots per block and raising the maximum stack size per slot above 64.

Comparing Slot and Stack Limits

Each material upgrade scales total capacity compared to a basic vault (20 slots at 64 items per stack):

  • Copper (1.7x): 30 slots per block, 72 items per stack.
  • Iron (2.8x): 45 slots per block, 80 items per stack.
  • Gold (4.1x): 60 slots per block, 88 items per stack.
  • Diamond (6.0x): 80 slots per block, 96 items per stack.
  • Emerald (7.7x): 100 slots per block, 99 items per stack.
  • Obsidian (9.7x): 125 slots per block, 99 items per stack.
  • Netherite (12.4x): 160 slots per block, 99 items per stack.

Maximizing Multiblock Capacity

Because slot counts and stack sizes scale together, even compact footprints hold massive stockpiles. A single Netherite vault block holds up to 15,840 items on its own. When you assemble a full 3x3x9 multiblock structure and upgrade it to Netherite, that single vault stores over 1.28 million items while occupying the exact same space as a basic vault.
