Inspecting and Automating Tiered Vault Capacities

Because upgraded vaults hold up to 99 items per slot and scale past a million items in large multiblocks, tracking remaining capacity works best with dedicated readout tools. You can inspect any vault manually or connect it to display and redstone control blocks.

Checking Stats with the Scanner Tool

To inspect exact storage numbers on a vault without wiring external displays:

1. Equip the Scanner tool in your hand.

2. Right-click any block of a placed vault multiblock.

3. Check the UI readout to view the current vault tier, connected block count, exact stored item counts, and maximum slot limits.

Setting Up Display Links and Threshold Switches

For automated storage rooms and item network controls, tiered vaults add extra monitoring options:

  • Display Links: Attach a Display Link to a vault to broadcast new readouts for exact item counts, used slots, and vault sizes.
  • Threshold Switches: Open an attached Threshold Switch to adjust levels quickly using preset jump buttons, then use the clipboard copy feature to transfer your settings to other switches.

Behind the scenes, tiered vaults also reduce comparator update checks to keep your game performance smooth during rapid item transfers.
