Cozy Homestead Essentials Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I make a bed with this mod?
Beds are built piece by piece from a separate frame, mattress, cover and blanket rather than crafted in one step. Check your recipe viewer or crafting book for each component's recipe, then combine the parts to get a finished bed.
What's the difference between the bed comfort tiers?
Basic takes ten seconds to sleep and keeps your old respawn point. Low takes seven and a half seconds and updates your respawn. Normal takes five seconds, sets your spawn and gives a short Regeneration buff, and Deluxe takes two and a half seconds, heals you on waking and lets you sleep with monsters nearby.
Why didn't my spawn point change when I slept in my new bed?
You're probably using a Basic tier bed, which preserves your existing respawn location. Sleep in a Low, Normal or Deluxe bed if you want to set your spawn there.
Can I sleep when there are monsters nearby?
Only Deluxe tier beds ignore nearby monsters. With any lower tier you'll need to clear the area or light it up first, just like vanilla.
How do I make bunk beds or a double bed?
Stack two matching beds vertically to create a working bunk bed. If the beds don't match, they won't combine. To make a wider shared bed, place beds next to each other so they join together.
Can I change the color of my bed?
Yes, blankets can be dyed different colors, so you can match your bed to your room's palette.
Will villagers use the new beds?
Yes, villagers can claim and sleep in every new bed style, so you can furnish village houses with them without breaking villager behavior.
How do the saloon, pet and secret bookcase doors work?
Saloon doors swing open and close automatically as players walk through, so you don't need to click them. Pet doors are small doors made for cats, dogs and other tiny mobs. Secret bookcase doors look like bookshelves, so you can use them to conceal hidden rooms and vaults.
Why are my copper doors changing color, and can I stop it?
Copper doors age over time like vanilla copper blocks. Wax them to lock in the look you want. If you'd rather not deal with aging, the mod also adds sliding wooden doors.
I can't find the sandwiches, feasts or sweets. Where are they?
The placeable feasts, sandwiches, sweets and themed snacks only appear when the mod is paired with cooking additions. Without a compatible cooking mod installed, that food content won't show up.
