Connect Pipes to Oversized Tanks and Boilers

Preparing Your Tank Structure

Custom-sized tanks and boilers work with standard Create piping systems. Since your structures can be much larger than default tanks, plan your pipe connections carefully to avoid bottlenecks.

Pipe Connection Strategy

1. Identify inlet and outlet points on your tank or boiler—these are where pipes attach

2. Use multiple pipe connections on different faces or heights to increase flow capacity

3. Connect input pipes from your fluid production (pumps, refineries, etc.)

4. Connect output pipes to consumers or other tanks

5. Use pipe junctions and splitters to distribute flow efficiently across large structures

6. Test your setup by running fluid through at full capacity

Optimization

For massive tanks, single-pipe connections may create flow restrictions. Consider using multiple inlet and outlet points distributed across the tank's surface. This prevents pressure buildup and ensures your oversized storage doesn't become a bottleneck. High-level boilers especially benefit from multiple heat source placements and steam output connections to handle their increased pressure output.
