The Four Tiers
This mod offers four loader blocks, and the main difference between them is how much area they keep loaded.
Single Chunk Loader: the smallest option. It keeps exactly one chunk active — the chunk it is placed in. Best for a lone machine, a single spawner, or one small farm.
Basic Chunk Loader: covers more than a single chunk, suited to a compact build that spills slightly over a boundary.
Advanced Chunk Loader: handles a larger footprint, appropriate for medium bases with several machines or farms running at once.
Ultimate Chunk Loader: the largest coverage, intended for big factories, sprawling farms, or multi-chunk redstone contraptions.
Picking the Right One
Count how many chunks your build actually occupies. If your machines sit in one chunk, a Single Chunk Loader is enough. If they span three or four, step up a tier. Using an oversized loader is not harmful, but it is wasteful; using an undersized one means part of your build stops ticking when you leave.
Practical Placement
Place the loader so its coverage overlaps every chunk your build uses. For multi-chunk setups, it is often simpler to place one loader per critical chunk than to rely on a single large loader, especially if your build is irregularly shaped. Verify by leaving the area and checking that everything kept running.
