Axes Are Weapons is built around a single idea: axes should behave like real weapons rather than tools that happen to deal damage. Its configuration exists to let you tune how far that idea goes on your world.

The mod's config file controls the combat stats and mechanics applied to axes, bringing them in line with swords. Because the mod is small and single-purpose, the options are limited to that scope — you will not find unrelated gameplay toggles here.

When editing the config, keep in mind that changes affect how axes perform in combat globally. If a value seems to have no effect, confirm the config was saved and reloaded, since combat stats are typically read when the game or server starts.

On a server, the config is server-side: players connecting to it use the server's settings, not their own. Adjust it there rather than in each client instance.

If you are unsure what a given option does, leave it at its default. The defaults already deliver the mod's intended behavior.
