Animated Pocket Villagers Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I get a Skin Plush?
Craft a Skin Plush, or in Creative mode grab one from the mod's creative inventory tab. That tab also has ready-to-use plush figures with premade poses and animations if you want something that works right away.
How do I open the plush editor?
Place the plush on any block, then hold Shift and right-click it. This opens the studio editor, which has separate tabs for Skin, Paint, Pose, Items and Animate.
How do I make the plush look like me or a friend?
In the Skin tab, type a Java Edition player name and the plush loads that player's skin. You can also paste a web link to a skin image if the skin you want isn't tied to a username.
Why won't my username skin load?
Username lookup only works with Java Edition player names, so make sure the name is spelled exactly right and belongs to a Java account. If it still fails, load the skin from a web image link instead, or paint the look yourself in the Paint tab.
Does it work with slim (Alex-style) arm skins?
Yes. The plush supports both standard and slim arm skin models, so skins with thinner arms display correctly.
How do I paint or fix a skin on the plush?
Open the Paint tab and draw directly on the 3D model. You can change brush sizes, use the fill tool and the color picker, and erase the outer layer to remove things like hats or jacket overlays.
What are the hotkeys for posing?
In the Pose tab, select a body part or the whole figure, then press G to move, R to rotate or S to scale along an axis. The 3D ground grid helps you line up the plush's height with the blocks around it.
Can my plush hold a sword or other item?
Yes. Use the Items tab to give the plush a real item to hold in its left hand, its right hand, or both.
How do I make my plush animate instead of just standing there?
Open the Animate tab and add keyframes on the timeline at different poses. Turn on autokey to record keyframes automatically while you pose, and use the speed controls to set how fast the loop plays.
My pose or animation disappeared. What happened?
Click Save changes before you close the editor, or your edits won't stick. Saved designs, poses and animations are stored in your world save, work offline, and sync to other players on multiplayer servers.
