The Sea Lantern is a block in Minecraft that players make by crafting Prismarine Shards together with Prismarine Crystals. It is an item that stacks up to 64, and placing it sets down a block of the same name.
Players craft Sea Lanterns when they have gathered the prismarine materials needed and want to put the finished block into the world.
