Villages Not Showing Extended Roads
If you're exploring villages that don't have the longer roads and decorative elements described, check these factors:
Common Causes
- Pre-existing chunks: Villages generated before installing the data pack won't be modified. Only newly generated villages show the changes. Explore new terrain or use a new world.
- Data pack not active: Verify the data pack is enabled in your world settings. Check the data pack list in world options—it should appear and show as active.
- Conflicting mods: Other village-generation mods or data packs may override these changes. Disable competing mods to test.
- Chunk loading: Ensure you're in areas that haven't been generated yet. Villages in already-explored regions won't retroactively update.
Testing
Create a new world or travel to unexplored terrain far from your spawn point. Generate new chunks and look for villages there—these should display the extended road networks and decorative elements.
If villages still appear unchanged, the data pack may not be loading correctly. Reinstall it and verify it appears above conflicting data packs in your load order.
