Using the Stab Shot as an Emergency Weapon Against Mob Groups
The Stab Shot works best as a panic button. Use it when a group of hostile mobs or a single tough threat is too dangerous to fight by hand.
Good Situations to Use It
- Large hostile crowds. A mass of zombies, skeletons and creepers gathered at night is an ideal target.
- Difficult threats. If a strong mob is winning the fight, one strike can end it before you lose your gear.
- Clearing a dangerous area. Wipe out mobs packed around a structure before you move in.
Tactics for a Clean Kill
1. Make distance first. Back away so the mobs are bunched together and you are not among them. Pillars or high ground help.
2. Let them cluster. Mobs chasing you tend to bunch up.
3. Fire and retreat. Activate the item and move away from the impact point right away.
4. Mop up survivors. Mobs at the edge of the blast may survive. Finish them with your normal weapons.
Things to Keep in Mind
- It is single use. Carry more than one if you expect a long fight.
- The blast also destroys terrain, so avoid using it near your base or near structures you want to loot intact.
- Drops from mobs caught in a big explosion can be lost. Do not count on collecting much loot afterward.
