Clearing Terrain and Digging Huge Craters with the Stab Shot
The Stab Shot destroys the terrain around its impact point, leaving a large crater. You can put that to work for fast land clearing instead of hours of digging.
Practical Terrain Uses
- Flattening hills to make room for a build site.
- Opening a quarry pit to reach lower layers quickly.
- Clearing dense areas you would rather not cut through block by block.
Step-by-Step
1. Scout the area. Make sure no builds, chests, farms or villagers you care about are anywhere near the target.
2. Mark the center. Place a torch or other block at the spot you want the crater centered on. This gives you a clear aiming point.
3. Move far away. Back off well beyond the area you expect to be cleared.
4. Aim and activate. Point at your marker and use the Stab Shot.
5.** Once the blast is over, walk to the rim and look down before you enter. Craters can be deep.
6. Tidy up. Fill or shape the crater edges by hand. Light the pit well so mobs do not spawn inside it.
Tips
- Each Stab Shot is consumed on use. Larger projects need several, which means gathering a lot of TNT ingredients.
- Water or lava can flow into a fresh crater. Have blocks or a bucket ready to seal leaks.
