Using the Compass Display

The compass tool replaces the need to open the F3 debug menu every time you need to check your position. Simply hold a compass in your hand, and your current X, Y, and Z coordinates will appear on your action bar (the hotbar area at the bottom of your screen).

Reading Your Position

The compass displays three numbers representing your location:

  • X coordinate: Your east-west position (positive = east, negative = west)
  • Y coordinate: Your vertical height (higher numbers = higher altitude)
  • Z coordinate: Your north-south position (positive = south, negative = north)

Your facing direction is also shown, helping you navigate without confusion. This is especially useful when:

  • Returning to a base or waypoint
  • Coordinating with other players
  • Exploring and mapping your world
  • Finding your way back after getting lost

Tips

Keep a compass in your hotbar during exploration. The display updates in real time as you move, so you can monitor your position continuously without interrupting gameplay.
