How to Stay Safe from Radiation

Radioactive items dropped on the ground create dangerous hot spots that emit different types of radiation—alpha particles, beta particles, gamma rays, and neutrons. Each type penetrates differently: alpha stops easily, while neutrons pass through light barriers.

Carrying radioactive materials in your inventory or hotbar exposes you directly. Prolonged exposure causes screen static and can mutate nearby mobs. Monitor your dose with a dosimeter or geiger counter, which clicks faster as radiation increases.

Protect yourself by wearing a full hazmat suit and surrounding radioactive sources with dense shielding like lead, concrete, stone, or obsidian. If exposed, use medical treatments: Iodine Pills prevent radioactive iodine absorption, Prussian Blue removes cesium, Anti-Rad Injections purge heavy doses, and Radaway slowly clears accumulated radiation over time.
