Smelting Metal Armor for Nuggets

When wolf armor reaches the end of its life or you want to recycle old gear, certain material tiers can be smelted in a furnace. Copper, chainmail, iron, and gold wolf armor pieces can be placed in a furnace to recover metal nuggets corresponding to their material.

Which Armor Types Smelt

Leather and netherite armor cannot be smelted for recovery. Leather armor is organic and doesn't yield nuggets, while netherite requires special handling beyond standard furnace smelting. Diamond armor also does not smelt into diamonds through this method.

Efficient Recycling

Smelting is useful when you're upgrading your wolf's protection tier and have spare lower-level armor. Collect the nuggets and combine them back into ingots at a crafting table to fund your next armor tier, creating a sustainable progression loop without wasting materials.
