Wolf armor comes in seven tiers: leather, copper, chainmail, iron, gold, diamond, and netherite. Each tier offers increasing protection and durability. Start with leather or copper for early-game exploration, upgrade to iron or chainmail for mid-game caves, and reserve diamond or netherite for dangerous biomes like the Nether or deep caverns.

Protection vs. Durability Trade-offs

Gold armor offers lower protection but higher durability, making it useful for extended exploration where you can repair frequently. Diamond and netherite provide maximum defense but require rare materials. Chainmail offers a balanced middle ground for players seeking cost-effective protection.

Nether and Boss Preparation

Before fighting wither skeletons, blazes, or the Wither itself, equip your wolf with at least iron-tier armor. Diamond or netherite armor is recommended for Wither fights to ensure your companion survives the intense damage output. Always repair armor before major battles to maximize your wolf's survivability.
