Choose the right tank tier for your needs

Understand the tank progression

Iron Tanks mod provides a tiered system similar to Iron Chests: basic Iron Tanks, then Copper, Silver, Gold, and Diamond tiers. Each step up increases storage capacity significantly. Lower tiers are cheaper to craft but fill up quickly; higher tiers cost more resources but hold vastly more liquid.

Match tanks to your production

For small operations or temporary storage, Iron Tanks are sufficient. If you're running multiple machines that consume or produce liquids, use Copper or Silver tanks. For large-scale automation with many machines, Gold or Diamond tanks prevent constant overflow or shortage issues.

Consider space and aesthetics

Higher-tier tanks take up the same block space but hold more, so they're more space-efficient. If you're building a compact base, investing in better tanks early saves you from building massive tank farms later.

Plan for scalability

Start with mid-tier tanks and upgrade as your factory grows. You can always add more tanks or swap them out for higher tiers without losing the liquid inside—just pump it out first.
