How to Move a Single Item Between Inventories with the Scroll Wheel

What the Scroll Wheel Does

The scroll wheel is the mod's precision tool. Instead of moving a whole stack, it moves one item at a time from one inventory to the other. This is useful when you want to split a stack, feed a machine slowly, or top up a chest without dumping everything.

Moving Items Out of Your Inventory

1. Open a container so both your player inventory and the container are visible.

2. Hover your cursor over the slot containing the item you want to move.

3. Scroll the mouse wheel toward the other inventory (the direction depends on whether the target is above or below your inventory).

4. One item leaves the stack and appears in the target inventory. Repeat the scroll to move more, one at a time.

Moving Items Into Your Inventory

1. With the container open, hover over a slot in the container.

2. Scroll in the opposite direction to pull a single item into your player inventory.

3. Keep scrolling to transfer additional single items.

Tips

  • This works on chests, player inventory, and hoppers, so you can use it to trickle items into a hopper line without overfilling it.
  • Because each scroll moves exactly one item, you can precisely split a stack between two inventories without opening a crafting grid.
  • If the scroll does nothing, check that the target inventory has a free slot or an existing partial stack of the same item.
