Crafting and Using Integrated Cataclysm's Adjusted Recipes

Why Recipes Changed

Integrated Cataclysm adjusts Cataclysm's recipes so they connect to the other mods in the pack — mainly Create, Supplementaries, and Quark. That means some items you used to craft from vanilla ingredients now need a Create component, a Supplementaries item, or a Quark block as an intermediate. The exact ingredients vary by pack configuration, so always check JEI or REI rather than assuming the old recipe still works.

Finding the New Recipes

Open JEI/REI and search the item you want. If the recipe shows a Create item (a cogwheel, a casing, a shaft) or a Supplementaries/Quark block you don't recognize, click through to that item's own recipe. Chain the lookups until you reach vanilla materials. For Create-gated recipes, you'll usually need to build the component in a Create machine first — a mechanical press, a mixer, or a sequenced assembly — so plan your workshop around that. If a recipe requires a Create machine you haven't built, that's your next project, not a bug.

Practical Tips

Set up a small Create workshop near your base before diving into Cataclysm content: a hand-crank or water wheel for rotation, a mechanical press, and a depot or basin. Stock intermediate components in bulk so you're not crafting one cogwheel at a time mid-dungeon-run. Keep a chest of Supplementaries and Quark odds and ends — ropes, lamps, variant blocks — because they show up as recipe ingredients more often than you'd expect. When a recipe looks impossible, check whether it's actually a Create sequenced assembly (multi-step) rather than a crafting-table recipe; JEI will show the steps.
