Beating the Overhauled Cataclysm Bosses in Integrated Cataclysm
What Changed in the Fights
The bosses themselves are still Cataclysm's bosses, but Integrated Cataclysm rebuilds their arenas. Expect larger, multi-level rooms with Create machinery that can help or hurt you, Supplementaries hazards like falling blocks or hidden spikes, and Quark decorative elements that hide safe spots. The core attack patterns of each boss are unchanged, so any strategy you already know from base Cataclysm still applies — the difference is the terrain and the extra mechanical interference.
Preparing for the Arena
Before triggering a boss, walk the arena and identify: the entrance (your retreat), any Create contraptions that might activate during the fight, and any elevated platforms you can use to break line of sight. Bring a full set of the tier of gear you'd normally use for that boss, plus extra food, a water bucket, and blocks. If the arena has a mechanical door, note how it opens — you may need to reopen it mid-fight to escape. Clear any mobs in the approach corridor first so you don't get pinched.
During the Fight
Use the new verticality. Multi-level arenas let you drop onto a boss from above or retreat to a ledge to heal. Watch for Create traps activating on a timer — if a deployer or mechanical arm starts moving, reposition. Supplementaries hazards often trigger on proximity, so don't hug walls. If a boss knocks you into a pit, place blocks immediately to climb out rather than panicking. Kill order for multi-boss encounters is unchanged from base Cataclysm; focus the add-spawner or the ranged threat first, then the main boss.
