Understanding Gravestones

When you die, a gravestone appears at your death location containing all your dropped items. This gives you a window to retrieve your belongings before they despawn. The gravestone displays a custom death message, helping you remember what happened.

Retrieving Your Items

Navigate back to your death location and break the gravestone to recover your items. Items will drop from the broken gravestone just like a normal block break. Collect them quickly to avoid losing them to despawn.

Death Timer

You have a limited time to return to your gravestone before items despawn. The death screen displays a timer showing how much time remains. Plan your route back carefully—rushing blindly might result in another death and a new gravestone location.

Preventing Item Loss

If you died far from your base, consider crafting a new set of basic tools before heading back. This prevents you from dying again on the return journey and losing everything permanently. Mark your death location mentally or with blocks to navigate efficiently.
