Adding or Removing Specific Mobs from the Spawn List

You can use In Control to add a mob that normally does not spawn in a dimension, or to remove one that does. Both are done with the same rule format — only the result changes.

Removing a mob

Write a rule matching the mob and the dimension you want it gone from, with result set to deny. If you want it gone everywhere, omit the dimension filter. This is the cleanest way to remove a vanilla mob from a modded dimension without editing loot tables or spawn eggs.

Adding a mob

To make a mob spawn where it normally would not, write a rule with the mob, the target dimension, and result set to allow. In Control does not create new spawn weights by itself — it filters the spawns the game already attempts. So if the mob has no spawn entry in that dimension at all, you may also need to give it a spawn weight through the mod's spawn-adding options or a datapack. Check the mod's documentation for the exact field name before adding numbers, since the format differs between versions. After editing, reload and verify with a test world before applying to a live save.
