How to Copy Sign Text to Other Signs

Copying Text With a Sign in Hand

The mod lets you duplicate a sign's text, color, and glow onto other signs without retyping anything.

1. Have the sign you want to copy in your inventory or hotbar (a single sign or a whole stack works).

2. Walk up to the sign whose text you want to duplicate.

3. Right-click that sign while holding the sign item.

The text is copied onto the sign(s) you are holding. Place those signs and they will already contain the copied text.

Resetting and Reusing Signs

If you want to clear a sign's stored text so you can write something new:

• Take the sign and put it into a crafting grid. This resets it, removing the retained text, color, and glow.
• Pull it back out and it behaves like a fresh blank sign.

This is useful when you have a stack of signs you copied for one project and now want to reuse for a different label.

Notes

• The tooltip that tells you about copy and retain behavior is generated by the server, so players do not need any client-side mod to see it.
• Both copy and retain behavior can be disabled in config/improvedsigns.json5 if your server prefers vanilla sign handling.
