Once you defeat a pillager, you become marked as wanted. This triggers roaming raider groups to hunt you down across biomes. The wanted status persists until you actively clear it.

Clearing Your Wanted Status

The primary method to remove your wanted status is using a Wanted Poster. Craft or find one, then place it and interact with it to clear your bounty. This will stop raiders from actively hunting you in your current region.

Alternatively, you can travel far away from the area where you became wanted—raiders spawn biome-specifically, so moving to a completely different biome may temporarily reduce encounters.

Prevention Tips

If you want to avoid becoming wanted in the first place, consider avoiding direct combat with pillagers early on. Focus on exploring pillager camps and research laboratories to gather resources and research notes without triggering the wanted system through kills. Once you're better equipped with totem knowledge and gear, you'll be better prepared to handle the consequences of raider encounters.
