Prepare Your Village for a Raid

Fortify Your Defenses

Before a raid begins, strengthen your village's natural barriers. Build walls around key structures—especially the village center and your own base. Use solid blocks like stone or dark oak wood to create a perimeter at least 3 blocks high. Position yourself on elevated terrain or rooftops to gain a height advantage against charging illagers.

Stock Up on Combat Gear

Craft or gather silver armor and tools before the raid starts. Silver provides reliable protection against the mod's enhanced illagers. Equip a sword and shield—the shield is essential for blocking attacks from Retalitors and Crindicators, who use parry mechanics. Bring healing potions, as Elite Vindicators and Ravager Riders deal heavy damage.

Scout the Raid Composition

Early waves contain standard illagers mixed with new variants. Expect Retalitors with hand axes, Elite Pillagers with special arrows, and Crindicators with parry attacks. By wave seven, a Ravager Rider appears as a mini-boss with charging and stomp attacks. Keep distance from this mob and use hit-and-run tactics. Clear smaller illagers first to avoid being surrounded during the boss encounter.
