Selecting the Right Drill

IC2 Additions offers several drill tiers: Advanced, Nano, and Quantum drills each mine progressively faster and have larger mining areas. The Vajra and Advanced Vajra break blocks instantly, making them ideal for clearing large areas or mining obsidian.

Powering Your Drill

1. Craft your chosen drill and charge it at an energy storage unit or charging bench

2. Equip the drill and hold right-click on a block to begin mining

3. Larger drills consume more EU per block but cover wider areas—useful for strip mining

4. Keep spare charged drills in your inventory; swap them when one depletes

Efficiency Tips

The Vajra's instant-break ability makes it perfect for mining valuable ores like diamond or uranium, but it drains power quickly. Use standard Advanced or Nano drills for bulk stone and dirt to conserve energy. Combine your drill with the Advanced Nano Suit or Advanced Quant armor for protection while mining in dangerous biomes or near lava.
