Adjusting Husk Spawns for a Modpack or Custom Difficulty
If you are assembling a modpack or tuning difficulty, the husk spawn chance is a powerful lever. Because husks behave differently from zombies, changing their frequency shifts the whole feel of undead encounters.
Deciding Your Target Experience
Ask what role you want husks to play. As a rare flavor mob, keep the chance low so players are surprised. As a core threat, raise it so husks dominate night and day. Because husks do not burn, a high chance makes the overworld feel permanently hostile.
Steps to Tune It
1. Open the mod's config file and find chanceZombieIsHusk.
2. Set a starting value and playtest a few in-game days.
3. Watch how often husks appear near your base and in the wild.
4. Adjust up or down based on whether the pressure feels right.
5. Remember the value is a probability from 0.0 to 1.0, so small changes matter.
Pairing With Other Mods
If your pack already increases zombie spawns or adds tougher undead, a moderate husk chance compounds quickly. If your pack reduces mob spawns, you may need a higher value for husks to feel present at all. Always test the combined result rather than tuning in isolation.
