Counter Enemy Unit Types Effectively

Understanding Unit Matchups

The mod includes a counter system where certain units are stronger against others. Archers are vulnerable to fast cavalry charges, cavalry struggles against tight infantry formations with spears, and heavy siege units are slow but devastating. Learn these matchups to build balanced armies.

Building a Balanced Force

Don't rely on a single unit type. Mix archers for ranged damage, cavalry for mobility and charges, and infantry for holding ground. When you encounter enemy archers, send cavalry to close the distance quickly. Against cavalry, form tight infantry lines to block charges.

Positioning and Timing

Use terrain to your advantage. Position archers on hills for better range, hide cavalry behind cover for surprise charges, and use choke points to funnel enemies into your strongest units. Watch enemy movements and time your attacks—a cavalry charge into the enemy's flank is far more effective than a head-on assault.

Adapting Mid-Battle

Pay attention to what units the enemy is using. If they're heavy on archers, move your cavalry forward aggressively. If they have cavalry, tighten your formations and use terrain to limit their mobility. Flexibility wins wars.
