How to Use Horse Stonks to Create a High-Stat Horse Line

Starting Your Breeding Program

Begin by collecting several horses with varying stats. You can find them in plains, savannas, and other biomes. Tame them and note their speed and jump strength. If you have a mod that shows exact values, use it; otherwise, test by riding and jumping.

Selective Breeding

1. Pair the two best horses you have. Breed them and raise the foal.

2. Check the foal's stats. Thanks to Horse Stonks, it will have at least the best speed and best jump of its parents.

3. Now breed that foal with another horse that has a higher stat in one category. The next foal will inherit the best from both.

4. Repeat, always breeding the newest foal with a horse that has a higher value in a stat you want to improve.

5. Over generations, you can approach the maximum possible stats.

Managing Your Herd

• Keep a separate pen for breeding stock and another for horses you use for travel.
• Use name tags to label horses with their stats or generation.
• Feed foals apples to speed up growth, or use a mod like FoamFix to reduce lag.

Donkeys and Mules

Apply the same strategy to donkeys. For mules, breed a high-stat horse with a high-stat donkey to get a mule with the best of both. Mules cannot breed further, so you must repeat the cross each time.
