How to Get Better Stats on Donkeys and Mules with Horse Stonks
Why Donkeys and Mules Benefit
Horse Stonks extends its stat inheritance rule to donkeys and mules. In vanilla, donkey stats (like jump height and speed) are random, and mules inherit from parents but can still be weak. With this mod, any foal—including donkey and mule foals—will never have worse stats than its parents.
Breeding Donkeys
1. Tame two donkeys and check their jump and speed.
2. Breed them with Golden Apples or Golden Carrots.
3. The foal will inherit the best stat from each parent. If both parents are average, the foal will be at least average.
4. Continue breeding the best offspring together to raise stats over generations.
Breeding Mules
Mules are sterile in vanilla, so you cannot breed two mules. However, you can breed a horse with a donkey to produce a mule. Horse Stonks ensures the mule foal inherits the best stats from the horse and donkey parents. This means you can use a high-stat horse and a high-stat donkey to create a strong mule.
Practical Use
- Use mules for carrying items in chests; better speed and jump make them more efficient.
- Donkeys can also carry chests, so breeding high-stat donkeys is worthwhile for pack animals.
