How to Breed Horses That Never Lose Stats in Horse Stonks Mod

Understanding the Inheritance Rule

In vanilla Minecraft, a foal's stats are randomized and can end up worse than either parent. Horse Stonks changes this so the foal inherits the best value from each parent for every stat. This means if one parent has high speed and the other has high jump, the foal can get the best of both.

Step-by-Step Breeding

1. Tame two horses and check their stats using a mod like Horse Info or by riding and testing jump height and speed.

2. Feed each horse a Golden Apple or Golden Carrot to put them in love mode.

3.

4. Once grown, check the foal's stats. It should have stats equal to or better than the best parent in each category.

5. Repeat the process, always breeding the foal with the best available partner to gradually push stats upward.

Tips

  • Keep a breeding pair with complementary strengths: one fast, one high-jumping.
  • Don't release low-stat horses into the wild; they can still be useful as breeding stock if paired correctly.
  • The mod applies the same logic to donkeys and mules, so you can improve those too.
