Push Items Upward into Elevated Storage with Huppers

Understanding Huppers

Huppers are the vertical counterpart to normal hoppers—they push items straight up instead of down. This lets you build compact vertical storage systems without wasting horizontal space.

Build Your Vertical Line

1. Stack huppers vertically, with each one pointing upward into the next

2. Place your top-level storage container (chest, barrel, or shulker box) on top of the highest hupper

3. Feed items into the bottom hupper from any direction

Combine with Multi-Huppers

For more complex layouts, use multi-huppers to split items into multiple vertical lines. Right-click with a wrench to enable the upward direction and any horizontal directions you need.

Speed Considerations

Choose your hupper tier based on your farm's output. Slower tiers (Honeyed, Copper) work fine for passive farms, while faster tiers (Diamond, Netherite) handle active grinders. Stack multiple huppers side-by-side if you need to move items upward faster than a single hopper can handle.
