Create a Lumberjack Work Area

Spawning and Locating Lumberjacks

Lumberjacks naturally spawn in Forest, Swamp, and Taiga biomes. These areas are common, making Lumberjacks relatively easy to find. Look for their themed structures scattered throughout these biomes.

Setting Up a Job Site

Craft a Lumberjack's Log (their job site block) and place it in a suitable location. A Lumberjack will claim it as their workplace. You can also leave their natural structure in place if it's convenient to your base.

Trading for Wood and Saplings

Lumberjacks trade wood blocks and saplings—essential for early-game building and tree farming. They're one of the most useful homesteaders for players who need consistent wood supplies without manual chopping. Their trades refresh regularly.

Optimization Tips

Place the Lumberjack's Log in an open area with good lighting. Ensure the Lumberjack has pathfinding access to their job site. If you're building a large base, consider positioning multiple Lumberjack's Logs in different sections to spread out your wood supply chain and reduce travel time.
