Understanding the Three Frog Types

Minecraft has three frog variants, each producing a different colored froglight when used on Magma Cubes. The frog you hold determines which froglight color you'll obtain. Plan your frog collection based on which froglights you need for your builds.

Collecting All Three Variants

1. Explore different biomes to find all three frog types in the wild

2. Use your Frog Holder on each variant to pick them up

3. Store them separately or switch between them as needed

4. Use each frog on Magma Cubes to farm its corresponding froglight color

Since frogs are common in swamp and water biomes, you can collect multiple copies of each type to speed up your froglight farming.

Organizing Your Frogs

Keep your three frog variants in separate inventory slots or storage containers so you can quickly switch between them. Label your storage clearly if you're farming large quantities of froglights. Having all three types available lets you complete any lighting project without backtracking to find specific frog colors.
