How to Get the New Eating, Drinking, and Swimming Animations Working
Triggering the animations
Hold My Items adds distinct animations for eating, drinking, swimming, climbing, and tool use. These are not toggled by a keybind; they play automatically when you perform the action. To see them:
1. Hold food and hold right-click to eat. The hand should move to your face with a chewing motion instead of the vanilla bob.
2. Hold a potion or bottle and hold right-click to drink. You should see a tilting, sipping motion.
3. Enter water and swim. The arm should stroke rather than stay rigid.
4. Climb a ladder or vine. The hand should alternate grips.
Tool animations
Sword swings, axe chops, pickaxe mining, and shovel digging each have their own motion. Just use the tool normally on the correct target: chop a log with an axe, mine stone with a pickaxe, dig dirt with a shovel. If the animation does not play, you are likely using the wrong tool class for that block, so the mod falls back to a generic swing.
If nothing plays
Another animation mod (for example a combat or player-animation overhaul) can suppress these. Disable the competing mod and retest one action at a time. Animations are client-side visuals, so they will not appear for other players unless they also run the mod.
