Capture and Link Wisps for Remote Casting
Finding Wisps
Wisps spawn naturally in Slipways, the underground structures that generate in your world. You can also find them wandering in certain biomes. They appear as floating, ethereal entities that glow softly.
Capturing Wisps
To capture a wisp, you'll need a containment method—typically a special item or block designed for this purpose. Once captured, wisps can be placed and will remain in that location, ready to cast spells.
Linking Wisps Together
Linked wisps can transmit information and spells between each other, allowing you to:
- Cast spells at a distance by having one wisp receive your commands
- Run calculations across multiple wisps for complex operations
- Create chains of wisps to extend your casting range
To link wisps, position them within range of each other and use the appropriate linking method (typically a focus item or by right-clicking with a specific tool). Once linked, they'll display a visual connection.
Using Linked Wisps
Feed linked wisps with Hex patterns through a casting interface. The receiving wisp will execute the pattern, making them ideal for automation, remote smelting, or distance-based spell work without requiring you to be present.
