How to Tap Trees and Make Syrup
Gathering Tree Sap
Tree tapping lets you collect sap from Spruce and Dark Oak trees without cutting them down. Craft a
Tree Tapper tool, then use it on the trunk of a compatible tree. The tree will produce sap over time, which you can collect by interacting with the tap again. You can place multiple taps on different trees to gather sap passively.
Boiling Sap into Syrup
Raw tree sap isn't useful on its own—you need to process it. Place a cauldron over a heat source (campfire, soul campfire, or similar) and add your raw sap to it. The heated cauldron will gradually boil the sap down into finished syrup. Once complete, collect the syrup and use it in cooking recipes or as a sweetener for various dishes.
Syrup is valuable for both culinary and decorative purposes, so setting up multiple tapping and boiling stations will speed up production for your homestead.
