Automate Power Generation with Coal and Fuel

Building a Generator

Construct a generator multiblock using metal frames and combustion chamber components. Attach fuel input pipes and connect an output for power transmission. Early generators burn coal or wood; later versions use refined fuel for better efficiency.

Fuel Supply Setup

Create a hopper or pipe system to feed fuel into the generator automatically. Use furnaces to smelt coal or refine crude oil into burnable fuel. Connect storage tanks to the generator input for continuous operation without manual intervention.

Power Distribution

Attach cables or conduits to the generator output. Route power to machines, furnaces, and other equipment throughout your base. Use transformers to step down voltage if needed for sensitive machinery. Monitor fuel consumption and maintain adequate supplies.

Coal generators are reliable but inefficient. Upgrade to fuel-burning generators once you establish an oil refinery for better power-to-fuel ratios and longer operation times between refueling.
