How to Use Happy Go Lucky for Exploration and Map Completion
Turn the Chaos into a Mapping Tool
The mod's own description recommends a world map mod (Xaero's World Map or JourneyMap). That is not just a safety tip; it is the core strategy. Every random teleport is a free scouting trip to terrain you would never have walked to.
Set Up Your Mapping Workflow
1. Install a world map mod and enable waypoints. Every time you land somewhere interesting, drop a waypoint before the next teleport fires.
2. Carry a bed and a spare set of blocks so you can establish a temporary forward camp if you land near something valuable (a village, a stronghold-adjacent ravine, an ocean monument).
3. Keep a written log of coordinates and what you found. Because teleports are random, you will rarely return by accident; you return on purpose.
4. Use the Ender Chest to stash loot from each landing. Anything you cannot carry home is lost when the timer fires again.
What to Prioritize on Each Landing
- Scan the horizon for structures first; they are the highest-value finds.
- Note biome and dimension, since the mod works in the Nether and End too.
- If you land near your own base by luck, use the moment to unload and restock.
Accept the Tradeoff
You will lose time to teleports, but you will cover ground no walking player covers. Treat each jump as a free expedition, not an interruption.
