How to Survive a Random Teleport into the Nether or the End

Why These Dimensions Are the Real Danger

Happy Go Lucky works in the Nether and the End, and that is where random teleports kill players. Overworld jumps usually drop you on solid ground with Slow Falling; Nether jumps can drop you into lava lakes, onto a narrow basalt pillar, or into an open void over a lava sea. End jumps can put you on a floating island with nothing below.

Immediate Actions After a Bad Landing

1. Do not move for the first second. Slow Falling and Resistance are active, so you have a brief window to look around before deciding anything.

2. If you land over lava or the void, immediately place blocks beneath you (a stack of cobblestone in your hotbar is mandatory) and pillar to the nearest solid edge.

3. If you land in the Nether on a ledge, dig into the wall before doing anything else. A one-block hole with a block behind you stops most mob approaches.

4. In the End, never bridge toward the main island blindly. Mark your landing spot with a torch or block so you can find it again.

Gear That Keeps You Alive

Carry a water bucket only in the Overworld; in the Nether it evaporates. Instead carry: blocks, a fire resistance potion if you have one, food, and a spare pickaxe. Keep your Ender Chest stocked so a teleport never strands you without tools.

Know When to Log Out

If you land somewhere genuinely unsurvivable, logging out before the next teleport cycle is a legitimate tactic on singleplayer.
