How to Run Happy Go Lucky on a Multiplayer Server
Server-Side Only Means Everyone Plays by the Same Rules
The mod is server-side supported: you can install it on the server and clients do not need it. That means every player on the server gets teleported on the same timer, whether they installed anything or not. Plan your server around that.
Server Setup Steps
1. Install the mod on the server only. Confirm it loads before inviting players.
2. Tell every player to install a world map mod client-side. Without coordinates, players will constantly lose their bases and quit.
3. Set community rules for shared infrastructure: a public Ender Chest area, a communal food farm, and a spawn-adjacent gear chest so a freshly teleported player is never stranded.
4. Decide how you handle bases. Either everyone builds close together so a teleport can plausibly land someone near home, or everyone accepts that bases are private and coordinates are secret.
Managing Player Frustration
- Announce the mechanic in your server description so nobody is surprised.
- Expect players to log out mid-teleport cycle if they land badly; do not punish this.
- On PvP servers, random teleports make ambushes unpredictable. Consider whether that fits your server's tone before enabling.
Testing Before Launch
Run the server alone for a few teleport cycles in each dimension to confirm the effects (Slow Falling, Resistance) apply correctly and that nobody is dropped into an instant-death spot.
