How to Craft and Equip Your First Hang Glider

Gathering Materials

Collect the required crafting materials. The hang glider uses common resources found throughout the world—check your crafting recipe in the recipe book or on a crafting table to see the exact ingredients needed.

Crafting at the Workbench

Place your materials in the crafting grid according to the recipe. Once crafted, the hang glider will appear in your inventory as a wearable item.

Equipping Your Glider

Unlike the elytra, the hang glider does not occupy your chestplate slot, so you can wear full armor protection while flying. Simply have the hang glider in your inventory—it equips automatically when you jump from a height, or you can manually activate it from your hotbar.

Taking Flight

Climb to a high point—a tall mountain, cliff, or tower works well. Jump off and the glider will deploy. Use your mouse to control pitch and direction. The glider will gradually descend, so you'll need height to travel far. Practice in a safe area first to get a feel for the controls before attempting long journeys.
